The Discovery Learning Center (DLC) is one of 10 interdisciplinary research centers in Purdue University's new Discovery Park. The mission of the DLC is to advance research that revolutionizes learning in the STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering, and math). Through externally funded research projects, innovative programs, and collaborative partnerships, the DLC is committed to redesigning educational practices and creating innovative learning environments that have immediate impacts and nurture lifelong learning for students and citizens of a global community. |

well as additional resources and teaching aids. The Discovery Learning
Center in collaboration with the College of Science Outreach, the Science
Education Foundation of Indiana (SEFI), and the Indiana Department of Education

DLC Breaks Ground on New Facility
On Thursday, September 21, 2006, Purdue officials broke ground for the Discovery Learning Center's $10 million building which will provide creative, state-of-the-art learning laboratories to design and test STEM related educational projects. The new building will be a place where the best ideas from educators, researchers, and industry and government experts come together to transform learning at all levels from K-12 to college students, the workforce, the citizens of Indiana, and beyond.
