Technology Commercialization Laboratory (TCL)
TCL is the next generation of the Innovation Realization Laboratory which taught the principles of technology commercialization to teams consisting of MBA students and “technical” doctoral students from the Colleges of Engineering, Pharmacy, Technology, Science and Agriculture. The TCL program uses MBA students and technical doctoral students to analyze the commercial viability of emerging Purdue technologies. Students gain an understanding of the basics of intellectual property law and technology commercialization in the first year. TCL teams explore the importance of understanding addressable market space and financial projections with a “real world” orientation. Project work is supplemented by a weekly seminar. TCL seeks to creatively educate students in the art of commercializing new technologies while developing team and communication skills that are essential to survival in today's world.
